Hello family, we are in the final stages of planning. What started out as a small number
attending the reunion, has now grown to a much larger than expected group. A few changes have
been made to be able to accommodate everyone. Attached is a shortened version of our itinerary.
Read on for the full view of what’s happening this weekend. We look forward to seeing
everyone again and some of you for the first time. Color theme this year is white and purple. Find everything you need at the Halloween Costume Store for the spookiest season.


Thursday-Registration
Registration begins at 3pm on Thursday afternoon. The hotel check in is at 3pm, so you will be
able to register at that time also. Register, unpack, take a swim or a nap, and meet us down in the
ballroom for a salad and sandwich at 6:30pm. After check in, you may want to venture out for a
walk (or drive) two blocks south, to the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park where
you can stroll down to the river to see the beautiful view of the harbor and city. If you have
children there is a playground and a place to get ice cream. There is also a fun gift shop and the
River Watch Cafe. Hours are 6am-8pm Thursday and 6am-10pm, Friday and Saturday. If you
miss registration, we will be in the hospitality room to assist you.


Friday
Friday morning we will have the first shuttle load (Group A) at 10am for the trip to the IAAM
Museum. There is lots to see on the ground floor before the 11am entry time. Group B will load
the shuttle at 12 noon at the hotel. Your museum entry time is 1pm. Group A will exit the
museum at 1:15pm to load the shuttle for McLeod Plantation. We will have a snack on the bus
for those who may want something to eat. After Group B’s museum visit, the afternoon is yours
to explore the points of interest in the city which begins two blocks south of the museum.
After Group A’s McLeod Plantation visit, the shuttle will drop off those who want to explore the
points of interest in the city or back to the hotel for those who need to REST!
Return Shuttles


The first shuttle for the return to the hotel is for Group A, and will be at 5pm, location to be
announced. The second shuttle for the return to the hotel is for Group B, and will leave at 6pm
You do not have to wait for these shuttles. You can hire a ride share to return to the hotel when
you are ready. Remember, this evening you’re on your own. Ride share cost could be in the
$10-15 range.


After 6pm, we can gather in the ballroom (optional), order dinner from the hotel and eat there,
socialize, share your businesses and family stories and history. Or, if you like, you can stroll
down to the Waterfront Park an enjoy the view of the water and the city.

Saturday
Saturday Morning, Group B is the Geechee Gullah Tour group (https://gullahtours.com/gullah/
about-alphonso-brown/). You will need to board the bus at 9:20am for the 10am tour with The
Gullah Man, Alphonso Brown, for an hour and a half. After the tour, this group will go to
McLeod Plantation. We will have snacks on the bus. We will have you back to the hotel by 3pm.
The first Beach group will meet their shuttle at 9:45am. We have two vans that will take you to
Sullivan’s Island. island house. We will make two trips. The second shuttle should depart around
10:30am. You will receive tickets with your time to meet your van. The trip should take 15 to 20
minutes, but that could change according to traffic. Please dress comfortably and wear walking
shoes. The beach is three blocks from the Island house. If you don’t want the beach, you can just
sit in the yard with family and enjoy the island house. It’s possible we can take some of you
down to the Fort Moultrie Museum, where the Toni Morrison bench is located. Lunch will be
served between 11:30am-1:30pm. We will begin shuttling at 1pm and after from the island
house back to the hotel.


Banquet: 6:15pm-9pm
Dinner attire is Casual and Cool.


If you, or your child, has a talent you would like share with your family, please let me know
soon as possible so we can put you on the program. If you would like to share your small
business with the family on Friday night, you can set up in the Ball room from 6-9pm.
